Not here

Obviously, I don't blog here anymore.  But, I do blog on a somewhat regular basis on MySpace

Well, I'm back in Nashvile and will be at home for about a week before I move into where ever I'm staying at Vanderbilt.  It has been interesting being at home already, and I haven't even been here for 24 hours.

Last night, a huge gust of wind came through and knock a HUGE branch out of one of the trees in our front yard.  It hit the electrical wire, which is now drooping.  But down four houses the wire snapped and was on the ground.  So we lost electricity for a while.  What do you do when there is nothing else to do?  Go to Walmart!  We went out and bought a grill so that we could grill out for Mother's day.

Unfortunately, the tree is probably going to have to be cut down. NES (Nashville Electric Service) went through a couple of summers ago and did major trimming on trees that were near electric lines.  Unfortunately, they cut late in the summer and did not cut in a way that would keep the trees healthy.  Our trees have not been the same since, and now they are side heavy towards our house.

Our neighbors have a nest of baby bunnies in their front yard.  Our cat, and others in the neighborhood, has been lurking around that nest.  The bunnies are big enough to where they are coming out of the nest, but they are still only about the size of golf balls.  We are not sure if they are going to make it since there are so many cats around

A Bird and Quantam Mechanics

Well, today as been my P-Chem day.  I woke up, ate breakfast, studied P-Chem (and took a nap by accident), went to lunch, studied P-Chem, and then took my P-Chem exam.  I studied at my favorite spot in the library--the hallway on the Alston side of the building.  So I'm sitting in my chair, and I can hear a bird that is in the courtyard.  I don't know what kind of bird it is, but I do know that you usually hear its call towards dusk.  It was definitely not dusk, and so I was a little surprised to be hearing it at all.  So I look out the window, and there it it is.  The bird is sitting on one of the wooden chairs in the courtyard.  In fact, it's sitting on the chair that is just on the other side of the glass from me.  What's more is this bird is looking me straight in the eye.  I wanted to take a picture, but the general glare on the window prevented me from doing so with my phone.  If I had had a real camera with me, I would have been able to get a decent picture.  But then the bird flew up into the trellis.  I wanted it to come back, but then some people went out into the courtyard to study.  So I knew it wasn't coming back.

It's Official

It's Finals time!  Some of the ladies in my dorm and I got together to play "DDR" (it's not the real one).  We had such a blast and played for almost 2 hours.  It was so fun because we all made fools of ourselves but were able to laugh at ourselves (and each other).

Exams

Here is my tentative exam schedule:
Today:  Sacred Religious Music
Sat: Physical Chemistry
Mon: Digital Electronics
Tues:  Genetics and Developmental Bio
Wed:  Quantitative Chemistry
